Running Deer Golf Club was ranked in New Jersey’s Top Rated golf courses by Golf Digest & GolfStyles Magazine. The 18 tree-lined holes of Running Deer are spread out over 300 acres and, amazingly for this populous of an area, are buffered from homes, traffic, noise and other of life’s distractions. The course features six sets of tees from a tame 5,510 yards to an unyielding 7,174 yards. The terrain is flat, with a lot of rolling mounds and approximately 60 bunkers. Valleybrook Country Club has been voted the best public golf course in South Jersey by readers of the Courier Post 2007, 2008, 2009, 2011 & 2012 and it is easy to see why. The course is a classic design that includes a mix of flat and hilly terrain as well as lush teeing greens and tight fairways. Water comes in to play nine times throughout the round and golfers will find that the challenging elevation changes make proper club selection off the tee and to the green a “must” in order to score well.
